The offer in one paragraph
Citibank pays up to $1,500 when you open Citibank Regular Checking as a new customer. The $500 tier asks you to deposit $30,000 in new money and keep it there for 45 days. The $1,500 tier asks you to deposit $200,000 in new money and keep it there for 45 days. On the cash it asks you to park, the $1,500 bonus works out to an annual rate of 6.08%. The account charges $15 a month, and the bank publishes ways to avoid the fee. It is open to residents of 9 listed states and DC. The bank shows October 26, 2026 as the last day.

How to earn it
- Open Citibank Regular Checking online or at a branch, as a new customer.
- Deposit the amount for the tier you want in new money within 45 days: $30,000 for $500 or $200,000 for $1,500.
- Keep that money in the account for 45 days, the hold period as the bank states it.
- Keep the account open for at least 120 days.
- Wait for the bank to pay the bonus. Its terms say when it pays once you meet the requirements.
Day counts follow the bank's terms, which say when each period starts.
When the bank pays. Citi pays between day 90 and day 120 after you open the account.
New-to-Citibank funds come from outside Citibank by enhanced direct deposit, check or wire. Cash, transfers between Citibank accounts, Citi Global Transfers and debit card funding do not count. The balance on day 45 sets the tier, and it must stay at that level every day for the next 45 days. It can sit in the checking account or be split with a new Citi savings account opened before day 45.
Apply with a home address in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, California or Nevada, or in select markets of Illinois and Florida. Citi names only certain markets in those two states, so a home elsewhere in them may not qualify. Keep the account open for 120 days.
Anyone who owned a Regular Checking or Access Checking account in the last 365 days is excluded, as are estate, business and retirement accounts. An account takes one Citi checking offer, so this one and the direct deposit offer do not combine. The $15 fee is waived in any month with $250 in enhanced direct deposits or in a Relationship Tier.
